8.6 Engine Air Cleaner
Check air cleaner element every 50 hours of operation. Check
it more frequently during dusty, dirty conditions.
Replace air filter element and check inner element at 250
hours of operation or annually.
Replace inner element at 500 hours.
A dirty air filter can restrict air flow to the carburetor, reducing
engine performance. If the engine is operated in very dusty
areas, clean the air filter more often than specified.
IMPORTANT! Operating the engine without an air
lter, or with a damaged air lter, can allow dirt to
enter the engine, causing rapid engine wear. This
type of damage is not covered by warranty.
Inspection
Remove the air cleaner cover and inspect the filter elements.
Clean or replace dirty filter elements. Always replace damaged
filter elements.
