12. Unpin the cylinder rod and reposition it back at position A.

13. Extend the cylinder slightly to take the weight off pins C
and D, then remove them. Place them back in their storage
position in the bracket.
14. Retract the log lifter cylinder again so the assembly fully
lowers. The log lifter is now ready for work.

5.4 Live Deck, Raising with Log Lifter
To raise the live deck with the log lifter, reverse the above
procedure.
5.5 Block Dropper
• The block dropper is mounted on the back of the splitting
hopper. When the saw cuts the end of the log off, the block
dropper helps it fall squarely into the hopper, preventing
jams.
