1. Jam Nut
2. Tension Adjuster Nut
IMPORTANT! Adjust both sides equally.
1. Loosen jam nuts (1) on both sides.
2. Turn the tension adjuster nuts (2) on both sides to tighten
the chain.
3. Tighten the jam nuts once proper tension is achieved.
The live deck chain can stretch a slight amount and can require
occasional adjustment. If excessive slack is observed, snug up
the tension adjusters. Care must be taken the chain is not over
adjusted, as this adds pretension into the chain and reduces
chain life.
8.13 Live Deck Drive Chain Tension,
Adjusting
• Turn chain tension adjuster nut (1) clockwise to tighten the
chain. Chain sag should be 3/4"–1" (20–30 mm) .

8.13.1 Live Deck Drive Chain Lubrication
The infeed conveyor drive chain requires periodic lubrication.
Use a brush to apply SAE 20 oil to the slack side of the chain on
the roller links.
Reapply oil every 50 hours of operation or as necessary to
prevent the chain from becoming dry.
