7.2.1 Warm up Screen
The operating temperature of the MFA 9000 is 63 °C.
Therefore the instrument needs a preheating phase after the system has been powered up. As
long as the preheating procedure is running the indication “Warmup” screen will be shown. Fur-
thermore the remaining warm up time is indicated by a down counter.
The current loop is deactivated during warm up. The warm up time is a parameter that can be set
by the user but is properly preset for the installed application. After warm up the instrument will
show the operation screen.
Pressing the <UP> key during warm up switches directly to operation screen and activates the cur-
rent loop.
7.2.2 Operation Screen
After switching on and warming up the MFA 9000 shows the operation screen.
Mainly it provides the user with the measured gas concentration. The first line gives the user status
information. E.g. in occurrence of process alarms or a system error an appropriate indicator is
shown.
The third line shows the appropriate unit of the measurement and the gas selection which is actual
active, Hydrogen in Nitrogen in this example. The measurements are taken in Vol.% or ppm de-
pending on the preset of the instrument. Display resolution in ppm mode is always 1 ppm. If Vol.%
indication is chosen, the decimal places after the dot are reasonably preset but may be altered by
an expert. The reading of the instrument is rounded to the set decimal places.
Press the <UP> key to get access to the top level main menu.
Note!
When the operation screen is shown and the instrument is in the MGM mode the press of
<RIGHT> activates the gas mixture selection. This is indicated by highlighting of the actual
gas selection, e.g. “H2/N2”. Pressing <ENTER> scrolls to the next gas mixture enabled in
the “List for MGM”.
