To setup this interface regarding the requirements of the application the analog output provides
several output modes. To select the appropriate output mode mark the first line by pressing RIGHT
twice. Now you can switch between the different modes by pressing ENTER. Depending on the
mode different submenus will appear at the display in line two and three. The following modes are
available:
The selection of the “I/O Mode” “420 mA” spans the loop current from 4 mA to 20 mA.
Starting point of the sample gas concentration in ppm leading to a 4 mA output is specified in
submenus “IoutMin”. End point of the sample gas concentration in ppm resulting in a 20 mA
output is specified in submenu “IoutMax” in ppm.
The selection of the “I/O Mode” “420 mA (Err)” spans the loop current from 4 mA to 20 mA as
well. However in case an error occurs the output current is set to the value specified in the
submenu “IOut Error”
The selection of the “I/O Mode” “020 mA” spans the loop current from 0 mA to 20 mA.
Starting point of the sample gas concentration in ppm leading to a 0 mA output is specified in
submenus “IoutMin”. End point of the sample gas concentration in ppm resulting in a 20 mA
output is specified in submenu “IoutMax” in ppm.
The selection of the “I/O Mode” “020mA (Err)” spans the loop current from 0 mA to 20 mA as
well. In contrast to the “020mA” mode this mode sets the loop current in case an error to the
value set in the submenu “IOut Error”. Note that the error current should not be set within the
0–20mA range. In this mode the error current should be set between 20 mA and 22 mA.
The selection of the “I/O Mode” “020mA (Corr.)” is used if a 0 V to 10 V voltage drop is de-
sired at a 510 Ohm resistor. The correction factor is found in Parameter 73.
The “IOut” constant menu gives the user the possibility to set a constant current. This constant
current is applied if the analog output runs in mode constant IOut. The “IOut” error menu gives
the user the possibility to set the error current. The error current is the loop current if the ana-
log output runs in one of the modes they provide error current output in case an error occurs. If
you do not want to use the current output, set to 0.0 mA.
