124 6 Troubleshooting
6.8 Non-genuine Mode
When the toner within a toner cartridge is empty, the [Replace Toner Cartridge [X]] (X: Y,
M, C, or K) message appears.
When you want to use the printer in Non-genuine mode, use the following procedure to
program the mode and replace the toner cartridge.
Important
If you use the printer in the Non-genuine mode, the performance of the printer may not be at its optimum.
And any problems that may arise from the use of the Non-genuine mode are not covered by our quality
guarantee. The continuous use of the Non-genuine mode can also cause the printer to break down, and
any repair charges for such break down will be incurred by users.
Note
To disable the Non-genuine mode, select [Off] in Step 4.
1. Press the < > and <Eject/Set> buttons
simultaneously on the control panel.
[Consumables Menu] is displayed.
2. Press the < > or <Eject/Set> button.
[Toner] is displayed.
3. Press the < > or <Eject/Set> button again.
The current setting is displayed.
4. Press the < > button to display [On].
Then, press the <Eject/Set> button to
confirm the selection.
5. Press the <Menu> button.
The printer switches to the Non-genuine
mode.
