7.17 Moving the Printer
Important
• This product (including the consumables) weighs 17.0 kg. When moving it, always carry it by a team of 
two or more persons to avoid mishandling or injury.
• When lifting this product, firmly grip the recessed areas provided on both sides of the machine. Never lift 
it by gripping any other areas. It will avoid you from dropping the product and getting back ache or 
injuries.
Use the following procedure when moving the printer.
1. Switch the power off by pressing the power switch located on the left side of the 
printer to the <O> position.
2. Unplug the power cord, interface cable, and all the other cables from the printer.
3. Open the side cover.
4. Remove all toner cartridges from the printer.
Important
• Make sure to remove the toner cartridges before moving the printer. Otherwise, the toner may spill in the 
printer.
• Do not shake the toner cartridges after removing them. The toner may spill.
• Be careful not to get your hands or clothes dirty with toner. If toner gets on your hands or clothes, wash 
it off immediately.

128).
5. Close the side cover.
6. Push the side button (right side) and open the front cover.
7. Hold the drum cartridge by the tabs at both ends, and slide the cartridge towards the 
front of the printer. Then, firmly hold the cartridge by both ends, and lift the cartridge 
out of the printer.
Important
• When removing the drum cartridge, make sure to firmly hold the cartridge to prevent it from falling on the 
belt unit.
• Do not touch the interior of the printer. Some parts may be hot.
• Make sure to remove the drum cartridge before moving the printer. Otherwise, the toner may spill in the 
printer.
• After removing the drum cartridge out of the printer, avoid exposure to strong light by putting it in a box or 
aluminum bag or wrapping it with a thick cloth.
