LOWR
SHIMMING (FOR USA AND CANADA)
2. Install:
● Shimming gauge
● Drive shaft
● Drive shaft bearing 1
● Pinion gear shim(s) 2
NOTE:
● Attach the adaptor plate to the gauge
base with four bolts of the appropriate
size.
● Connect the shimming gauge to the drive
shaft so that the drive shaft is centered in
the gauge’s hole.
● If the original shim(s) is unavailable, start
with a 1.5 mm shim.

YB-34432-16
Adaptor plate 4:
YB-34432-10
Gauge base 5:
YB-34432-11
3. Install:
● Pinion gear
● Pinion gear nut
4. Measure:
● Specified measurement (M)
Out of specification → Adjust.
NOTE:
● Measure the clearance between the shim-
ming gauge and the pinion gear as
shown.
● Perform the same measurement at three
points on the pinion gear.
● Find the average of the measurements (M).
