Installation must be performed in accordance with EN 50281-1-2.
• Transmitters can only be connected using cable glands certified in accordance with Directive
94/9/EC (ATEX) (not included in scope of delivery). The cable gland must also conform to IP
67 type of protection. Allowing for self-heating, the smoldering temperature of the dust must
be at least 85 K higher than the ambient temperature.
Caution - Risk
When using separating sensors with an anti-stick coating, be aware of the risk of electrostatic
discharge (with consideration given to the medium and transport speed).

• The transmitter must be connected using a certified cable gland (not included in scope of
delivery). The cable gland must satisfy the requirements of explosion protection type
"Increased safety EEx e" in accordance with Directive 94/9/EC (ATEX). Additionally, the
conditions stipulated in the type-examination certificate for the cable gland must be
observed.
Warning - Risk
Opening the housing during operation (with the operating voltage switched on) is not
permitted.
Opening the cover presents a risk of spark formation and, therefore, explosion.
