Communication set-up – EFB
Serial communication selection
To activate the serial communication, set parameter 9802 COMM PROT SEL =
•1 (
STD MODBUS)
•2 (
N2)
•3 (
FLN)
•5 (
BACNET).
Note: If you cannot see the desired selection on the panel, your drive does not have
that protocol software in the application memory.
Serial communication configuration
Setting parameter 9802 COMM PROT SEL automatically sets the appropriate default
values in parameters that define the communication process. These parameters and
descriptions are defined below. In particular, note that the station Id may require
adjustment.
Code Description EFB Protocol Reference
Modbus N2 FLN BACnet
5301 EFB PROTOCOL ID
Contains the identification
and program revision of
the protocol.
Do not edit. Any non-zero value entered for parameter 9802
COMM PROT SEL, sets this parameter automatically. The
format is: XXYY, where xx = protocol ID, and YY = program
revision.
5302 EFB STATION ID
Defines the node address
of the EIA-485 link.
Set each drive on the network
with a unique value for this
parameter.
When this protocol is selected,
the default value for this
parameter is: 1
Note: For a new address to take
affect, the drive power must be
cycled OR 5302 must first be set
to 0 before selecting a new
address. Leaving 5302 = 0
places the EIA-485 channel in
reset, disabling communication.
Sets MS/TP MAC ID. A
temporary value of 0
places the protocol
channel in reset.
