Installation of the environmental sensor
Location
The sensor should be at a place where it can detect the actual air inflow to the drive. For
example, wiring routes used for control panel connection, cable routes for control signal
etc.
ABB recommends to:
• install the sensor within three meter USB cable length from NETA-21and as near to
the drive as possible.
• install one sensor per NETA-21
• avoid location near the roof, floor and windows of electrical room
• the sensor outside the drive cabinet (due to EMC reasons). In exceptional cases such
as large drive cabinets which have internal cooling, sensor can be installed inside the
cabinet. Large cabinets have separate cooling air input to cabinet of multiple drive
control units which is different from the room temperature.
• not to install the sensor in high temperatures or humid area. This may result in
corrosion and damage the sensor.
Note: Drilling of extra holes to drive cabinet is not allowed due to EMC reasons.
Installation
1. Connect the environmental sensor to the USB port on the NEXA-21 module
Either connect the environmental sensor before you start NETA-21 or start NETA-21
again after the environmental sensor is connected.
2. Make sure that the sensor communicates with NETA-21
