Contents of this chapter
This chapter gives information on how to install USB-connected environmental sensor in
NETA-21.
Overview
The environmental sensor helps to analyze the incoming airflow and humidity of the air in
the room where the drives are located (irrespective of drive cooling).
For ACS880 drives and CMD web page, environmental sensors are not mandatory but this
may disable some graphs in reports and CMD portal. For ACS800 drives, ABB
recommends to have environmental sensors installed.
Installation of NETA-21
For detailed instructions on how to install NETA-21, refer to NETA-21 User’s manual
(3AUA0000096939 [EN]).
Notes:
• Do not connect a PC tool directly to the drive if NETA-21 is connected.
• Disconnect NETA-21 if the drive requires a direct PC tool connection or maintenance
operation.
• Connect the PC tool using NETA-21 as a gateway if necessary. Reporting will stop
working because NETA-21 only serves drive window requests.
