62 Installation troubleshooting (optional)
Connected fieldbus adapter module is also used by PC
tool
When NETA-21 is monitoring drives in local network and on starting the Drive composer
pro PC tool, the PC tool does not find the drives which are already connected to NETA-21.
CAUSE:
The connected fieldbus adapter module modules provide “one wire” approach and does
not allow both CMD and PC tool monitoring to be active simultaneously, when it is
connected to single fieldbus adapter module.
SOLUTION:
Perform any of the following:
• Install multiple fieldbus adapter modules using parallel networks. If fieldbus slots are
not available to connect two parallel fieldbus adapter modules, you can use FEA-03
fieldbus extension and move the existing modules from the drive control units to the
FEA-03. Thus, the empty slots in the drive control unit can be used to install fieldbus
adapter modules.
FEA-03 supports:
a) FEN-x1 type encoder options, and
b) I/O extensions modules FDIO-01, FAIO-01, FIO-01 and FIO-11.
• In NETA-21, use PC tool friendly mode (Device interfaces Ethernet Settings).
In this mode, when CMD is active and if NETA-21 detects a PC tool at the same time,
NETA-21 stops sending data to CMD and gives preference to PC tool monitoring.
Notes:
a) For PC tool friendly mode, your computer must have open firewall and dynamic
discovery of drives. For auto detection of drives, the UDP port 24576 needs to be
open to/from PC.
b) The PC tool friendly mode is not recommended for large networks, for example,
more than 10 drives.
c) During PC tool friendly mode, NETA-21 stops sending data to the cloud. Hence, if
NETA-21 is set to PC tool friendly mode for more than one hour, it can affect the
condition monitoring diagnostics quality.
PC tool requires DDCS CH3 but used by NETA-21
If NETA-21 uses DDCS CH3 port, simultaneously it is not possible to connect
DriveWindow PC tool to the same fiber optical channel.
Note: PC/Tools CH3 can be used for PLC connections. For example, AMC control units or
even for DDCS connections (as a fieldbus adapter) for clarity between condition
monitoring and non-conditioning monitoring.
CAUSE:
Only channel CH3 is recommended for PC tool and monitoring purpose and DDCS
protocol can support only one monitoring/user interface per channel. Channel CH0 is
allowed to use only for special purpose such as Modbus/TCP control
SOLUTION:
Enable PC tool Ethernet Gateway mode in NETA-21. To enable, navigate to Settings
Device interfaces DDCS Settings Ethernet GW and set it to Enable. This
enables the Ethernet gateway for DriveWindow PC tool.
