8.8 VCA
This section describes the setting options for video content analysis (VCA) functions. The video analyses are
carried out with the data of the thermal image channel. The following functions are available as rules for the
analysis:
1. Tripwire-> Detection of a line crossing by an object
2. Intrusion-> Detection of an object entering an area with delayed triggering
3. Area entry-> detection of an object entering an area
4. Area exit-> Detection of an object leaving an area that had previously entered the
area.
8.8.1 Basic settings
Intelligent analysis: Activates the VCA analysis function. Further setting steps are necessary.
Display in Steam
Show VCA info in stream: Fade in all configured VCA rules in the thermal image channel (frame,
lines).
Show movement path: Fade in the movement path behind detected objects
Movement sequence maximum duration: Maximum display duration of the line of the movement
sequence
Display in the picture
Show target info in alarm image: Frames around detected objects are displayed in the alarm image
(JPEG).
Show rule info in alarm image: Display of all configured VCA rules in the alarm image (JPEG)
Show size data on alarm image: Display size information of detected objects in the alarm image
(JPEG).
Snapshot settings
Upload JPEG image to the centre (CMS): Uploading individual images to the CMS software in the
event of an alarm
Image quality: Setting the quality of the images sent to the CMS
software.
8.8.2 Camera calibration
Calibration is used to more accurately determine the size of people in the scene being viewed.
Before you begin:
● Make sure that the actual size of the target in the scene is known
● Make sure that there are no moving objects in the view other than the person
If you want to improve the VCA detection, an automatic calibration must be carried out first. If the result of the
automatic calibration is not sufficient, a manual calibration can be performed.
The reference image of the manual calibration appears only after the automatic calibration has been
completed.
Automatic calibration
Set target height: Enter the height of the person (default: 1.70 m)
Start calibration:The automatic calibration can be started via the playback symbol.
