Automatic calibration starts when the person is fully visible in the live view and ends when the person
arrives at the end point.
The distance from the end point to the camera (m) is four times the focal length of the lens (mm). e.g.
for 3 mm lens, the recommended end point is 12 m (3x4=12).
The person should walk in a zigzag. And two zigzag paths are required. Make sure that the walking
route includes the left, middle and right sides of the picture.
The duration of the automatic calibration should not be shorter than 10 seconds and not longer than
10 minutes.
The unit stops the calibration automatically if the duration is too long.
When objects such as leaves or trees move in the scene, you can adjust the screened area. For
details on the settings, see Setting the screened area.
Stop calibration: The calibration can be stopped via the stop symbol.
After calibration, the camera's height and angle are displayed in the live view.
Manual calibration
Manual calibration: Activates the manual calibration function (possible after automatic
calibration is finished).
The automatic calibration creates 4 individual images with different views of people (Fig. 1-4). The basic
procedure for manual calibration is as follows:
1. Performing the automatic calibration (person walks through the scene)
2. Activate manual calibration
3. Figures 1 to 4 are filled with views of people.
4. Draw the vertical line in each figure (1-4) and set the height of the person.
5. Press the "Save" button.
6. Selection of the composite image.
7. Press the "Start Review" button.
8. You can now draw another vertical line in the image over an object with a known height.
9. Now press the "Calibrate" button.
10. The height of the object is displayed next to the drawn line. You can use this to verify the
determination of heights in the image, as you know the real height of the object.
8.8.3 External area
Up to 4 areas can be marked, which are ignored when analysing the VCA function. First click on the upper left
symbol (6-corner). Then you can draw a polygon with max. 10 corners in the video preview image with the left
mouse button. If the area has less than 10 corners, you can stop drawing with the right mouse button.
The "X" button deletes a previously marked area.
8.8.4 Control settings
As mentioned at the beginning of this section, up to 4 different VCA control types can be configured. Max. 8
rules are possible.
Enabled: A configured rule can be activated or deactivated.
No: Consecutive number
Rule name: Assignment of a rule name
Rule type: Selection of the desired VCA rule (tripwire, intrusion, range input, range output).
"X": Delete the programmed rule
Copy: Copy the programmed rule. Another identical rule is then added.
Filter: A filter is available for selection, which includes objects in the programmed rule or not,
depending on their size.
