As the codes on the exciter and Alteia don’t match at this stage, the Alteia will be unable
to decode the transmission. However it will still be locked on the signal so the LOCK LED
will be lit, the AUTHORIZED LED will flash and the ALARM LED will be lit. There will be
no picture on the monitor (or freeze frame depending on the Alteia setting).
Step 3 – set up CA on the Alteia
1. On the Alteia, navigate to the CA menu (#10). Set the following parameters:
BISS-E ACTIVE ID USER 1 xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Where xxxxxxxxxxxxxx is the BISS-E injected identifier of the video exciter.
For example if the serial number of the video exciter is 2018888, the following should be
entered:
BISS-E ACTIVE ID (menu 15/15) USER 1 20188882018888
2. On the Alteia, navigate to the CA menu (#10). Set the following parameters:
BISS MODE (menu 14/15) ENC 1000000000000000
The conditional access should now be set up correctly. The video signal should now
appear on the monitor.
