APPENDIX B - MAINTENANCE & FAULT FINDING
THERE IS NO ROUTINE MAINTENANCE REQUIRED FOR THE DVE5000.
THE FOLLOWING FAULTS MAY OCCUR, SUGGESTED REMEDIAL ACTION IS SHOWN:
1. Clock error – replace internal back up battery – refer to factory / agent.
2. Over Temperature – check ventilation grilles on each side of unit are free of
obstructions. Check fans are running – refer to factory / agent for spares.
3. Encoder fault – restart unit, if continues refer to factory / agent.
4. Internal HPA controller fault – restart unit, if continues refer to factory / agent
5. Up-converter fault – restart unit, if continues refer to factory / agent
6. Fan 1 Stopped – refer to factory / agent for spares.
7. Fan 2 Stopped – refer to factory / agent for spares.
8. Video Lock– check video signal is present.
9. Audio A lock – check AES/EBU audio is present.
10. Audio B lock – check AES/EBU audio is present.
11. Remux Not active - check external ASI signal is present and the output symbol / ASI
rate is set sufficiently high to pass the internal video / audio data rates + external ASI
rate.
12. HPA A Comms fail - check HPA is connected & powered.
13. HPA B Comms fail - check HPA is connected & powered.
The following should all be referred to factory or agent, if allowing the HPA to cool &
restart does not clear the fault.
