INPUT: Choices are, Analogue, AES/EBU or embedded HD (SDI); Use up / down arrow keys to
select, press ENTER to confirm or ESCAPE to cancel selection.
HD (SDI) embedded selection is defined by ‘group’ & ‘channels’ each automatically selecting
the correct DID according to HD or SD formatting.
Note: Audio A in a group is first pair of channels and Audio B is the second pair of channels –
there are 4 channels in a group of the same DID. Audios A & B must be set to the same group,
as must C & D. See detailed description in “overview” above.
TEST TONE: Choices are OFF, 0dBm 800Hz.
Use up / down arrow keys to select, press ENTER to confirm or ESCAPE to cancel selection.
Currently there are no test tones available in Dolby standard.
!Note: Selecting tones to ‘on’ overrides the input!
STANDARD: Choices are MPEG Layer1, MPEG Layer 2, Linear PCM, Dolby or OFF to disable
the audio encoding;
Use up / down arrow keys to select, press ENTER to confirm or ESCAPE to cancel selection.
Note: only one compression type (Layer 1 or 2) is allowed at a time. Eg Audio A at Layer 1 and
Audio B at Layer 2 is not possible. Audio A overrides setting of Audio B.
Linear PCM / Dolby on Audio A and Layer 1 or 2 on Audio B is allowed.
Audios C & D are inhibited if Audios A & B are both Mpeg Layer 1.
Note – in menu option UNIT SETUP / A/V OPTIONS the choice of standard for Layer 2 can be
chosen.
Mpeg Layer 2 DVB is for general use.
Mpeg Layer 2 IRIB covers the extension to the DVB specification used by Japanese IRD
manufacturers.
The IRIB format is DVB compliant but some early IRD’s that have not been software up-graded
can have issues with the extended specification.
LANGUAGE: This sets a flag along with the PID to aid selection of the correct audio channel at
the IRD. For 2 stereo channels, languages should be set differently on channels A, B, C, D; Use
up / down arrow keys to select, press ENTER to confirm or ESCAPE to cancel selection.
Defaults set by DVE5000 are – A = Eng(lish), B = Spa(nish), C = Ger(man), D = Fre(ch).
