Introduction to SCPI
IEEE 488.2 Common Commands
*RST Executes a device reset and cancels any pending *OPC
command or query. The contents of the instrument's
nonvolatile memory are not affected by this command.
This command is different from the front panel
function in the state of the commands (and
their reset states) listed below.
The preset instrument state is described in the User's
Guide.
*SRE <num> Sets bits in the Service Request Enable Register.
Current setting is saved in non-volatile memory.
*SRE? Reads the current state of the Service Request Enable
Register.
*STB? Reads the value of the instrument Status Byte. This is
a non-destructive read—the Status Byte is cleared by
the *CLS command.
*TRG Triggers a sweep on the active measurement channel
when in Trigger Hold mode. Ignored if in continuous
sweep.
*TST? Returns the result of a complete self-test. An ASCII 0
indicates no failures found. Any other character
indicates a specific self-test failure. Does not perform
any self-tests. See the Service Guide for further
information.
*WAI Prohibits the instrument from initiating any new
commands until all pending overlapped commands
have been initiated.
