Connect Your Fire TV to a Public Wi-Fi
Network
You can connect your Amazon Fire TV or Fire TV Stick to public Wi-Fi networks (like hotels and schools)
that require a browser or additional authentication steps to sign in.
To connect your Amazon Fire TV or Fire TV Stick to a public network:
Open your network settings.
On Amazon Fire TV (2nd Generation): Select Settings > Network from the Fire TV menu.
On Amazon Fire TV (1st Generation): Select Settings > System > Network from the Fire TV menu.
On Fire TV Stick with Voice Remote: Select Settings > System > Network from the Fire TV menu.
On Fire TV Stick (1st Generation): Select Settings > System > Network from the Fire TV menu.
Select the public Wi-Fi network you want to connect to. For networks that require a web page to log in,
a browser window will open after several seconds.
You'll only be able to access the login page for the public Wi-Fi network within this browser window.
Follow the on-screen instructions to log in. You can use the Menu button on your remote to select
links or input fields. An on-screen keyboard opens automatically for text fields.
Enter the required information--this could be a pre-shared password, room number or just an option to
accept the conditions for using the network. Contact the network owner or administrator for more
information.
After your device connects to the network, the browser window closes automatically.
Internet speeds will vary on public Wi-Fi networks and may impact the performance of your Fire TV.
