Fire TV Remote App Basics
The Fire TV Remote App is an alternate way to navigate and use voice search on your Amazon Fire TV
device.
Before you can use the Fire TV Remote App, you first need to connect the device you used to download
the app to the same Wi-Fi network as your Amazon Fire TV device. You can then pair the app with your
Amazon Fire TV device.

To Do This... Try This
Voice search
Press and hold the Voice icon at the top of the screen, then drag
down. Don’t release the icon until you’re done speaking.
Say what you're looking forincluding specific titles, names of
actors or artists, playlists, genres, etc.
Interact with Alexa
Press and hold the Voice icon at the top of the screen, then drag
down. Don’t release the icon until you’re done speaking.
Ask for information, music, audiobooks, news, weather, traffic, sports
and more.
Navigate menu items and categories
To move the selection:
Up - Swipe from the middle to the top
Down - Swipe from the middle to the bottom
Left - Swipe from the middle to the left
Right - Swipe from the middle to the right
Scroll - Swipe and hold to a specific direction
Select an item
Tap the device screen
Use navigation buttons
Tap the navigation icons at the bottom of the screen:
Home
Menu
Back
Enter text with a keyboard
Select the "keyboard" icon in the top right corner of the screen.
Enter text.
Tap Done to close the keyboard.
This option may not be available within third-party apps, like Netflix.

Use the playback controls at the bottom of the screen:
