Can't Connect a Bluetooth Accessory to Fire
TV
If you're having trouble connecting a Bluetooth accessory to your Fire TV, here are some things to try.
Here are some things to try:
Make sure your Bluetooth accessory is compatible
To learn more, go to Compatible Bluetooth Accessories for Amazon Fire TV.
Do not place your Fire TV in a cabinet
This impacts signal strength for Bluetooth accessories.
Unpair your Bluetooth accessory from other devices
Unpair your Bluetooth accessory from other previously paired devices, like desktop computers or
mobile devices.
Disconnect unused devices paired to your Fire TV
You can have up to seven Bluetooth accessories and Amazon remotes actively connected to your Fire
TV at any time. Try disconnecting any you're not currently using. Also make sure to only pair one device
to your Fire TV at a time.
Check available power for your Bluetooth accessory
Change the batteries or fully charge your compatible Bluetooth accessory.
Check your network connection
We recommend using a 5GHz wireless connection for Bluetooth accessories. For Amazon Fire TV
devices, try switching to a wired (Ethernet) connection, if available.
Send your Fire TV to Sleep Mode
If the audio for your Bluetooth headphones is out of sync, put your Fire TV to sleep and wake it up.
Press and hold the Home button on your Fire TV remote and then select the Sleep option.
You can only connect compatible Bluetooth game controllers to Fire TV Stick. Other Bluetooth accessories, such as
Bluetooth headphones, are not supported on Fire TV Stick. To learn more, go to Pair a Remote or Game Controller.
Still having trouble?
If your Bluetooth accessory was previously paired to your Fire TV, unpair it. Select Settings > Controllers
and Bluetooth Devices > Other Bluetooth Devices from the Fire TV menu. Then, select your previously
paired device and press the Menu button on your Fire TV remote to unpair it. After this is complete, try
pairing your Bluetooth accessory again.
Restart your Fire TV. Disconnect the power cord (from the back of the device or from the power outlet)
and then plug it back in.
