Use Your Voice to Search on Fire TV
You can use your voice to search for movies, TV shows, apps, games and more on your Fire TV.
If you have a Fire TV remote with a Voice button, you can search for movies, TV shows, apps, games
and more using your voice.
For more information about compatible remotes, go to Remote Basics or Fire TV Remote App Basics.
If you pair multiple remotes or Remote Apps to your device at the same time, voice search will only work with the first
paired remote.
To use voice search:
Press and hold the Voice button on your remote. If you're using the Fire TV Remote App, tap and
hold the Voice icon and drag down on your screen. Whenever you press the Voice button, your Fire
TV switches over to a "Listening..." screen.
Say what you're looking for—including specific titles, names of actors or artists, playlists, genres, etc.
Release the Voice button when you're done speaking.
Your Fire TV then searches your library, Amazon and compatible apps to find related content. You'll see
the search results on-screen. Use the directional keypad on your remote to review and select items from
these results.
Trouble with Voice Search?
If you're having trouble with voice search, here are some tips you can try:
Make sure you're holding your remote or mobile device with the Fire TV Remote App 1-12 inches away
from you.
Hold the Voice button the entire time you're speaking. Only release it when you're finished talking.
Reduce background noise around you as much as possible.
Try to be as clear and specific as you can about what you're looking for. You can use the words
"Search" or “Find” to specify that you want to search for content— for example, you can say "Search for
(title)."
If you're an eligible Prime member, you can search for Prime movies and TV shows by adding the
phrase "Prime only" to your voice search.
