Chapter 2 — Instrument Overview
2-1 Introduction
This chapter provides a brief overview of the Anritsu Site Master. The intent of this chapter
is to acquaint the user with the instrument. For detailed measurement information, refer to a
specific measurement guide listed in Appendix A, “Measurement Guides”.
2-2 Turning On the Site Master
The Anritsu Site Master S331E/S361E models are capable of approximately four hours and
the S332E/S362E models are capable of approximately three hours of continuous operation
from a fully charged, field-replaceable battery (see Section “Battery Replacement”
on page 1-5).
The Site Master can also be operated from a 12 VDC source (which will simultaneously
charge the battery). This can be achieved with either the Anritsu AC-DC Adapter or the
Automotive Cigarette Lighter Adapter. Both items are included with the Site Master.
To turn on the Site Master, press the green On/Off button on the front panel (Figure 2-1).
Caution
When using the Automotive Cigarette Lighter Adapter, always verify that the
supply is rated for a minimum of 60 Watts at 12 VDC, and that the socket is clear
of any dirt or debris. If the adapter plug becomes hot to the touch during operation,
discontinue use immediately.
