Inspections for the Lift
FREQUENCY
Every two years or 5000 cycles
Every year or 2500 cycles
Every four months or 1000 cycles
Before every use
Initially
USER INSPECTION
Inspect for evidence of external damage, missing parts or broken panels.
Inspect strap for wear, discolouration, delamination of coating or loose threads.
Recharge batteries.
Verify emergency stop mechanism.
Verify for damage to the emergency cord.
Verify functionality of the emergency lowering mechanism.
INSPECTION BY AN AUTHORIZED SERVICE TECHNICIAN
Replace
woven nylon strap.
Replace coated strap.
Inspect frame parts interlock and hardware for malfunction and make sure there are
no parts missing.
Inspect wheels in rail for damage, rust or cracks. Replace if damaged.
Inspect gears for wear and lubricate as necessary.
Inspect connecting joints for proper attachment (trolley and spreader bar).
Verify that the emergency brake’s latches are moving freely.
Verify emergency lowering mechanism.
Verify auxiliary up and down buttons on lift.
Load test with the SWL (safe working load).
Inspections for Accessories
FREQUENCY
Every two years or 5000 cycles
Every year or 2500 cycles
Every four months or 1000 cycles
Before every use
Initially
USER INSPECTION
Inspect all sling parts (attachments, fabric, stitch areas and strap) for signs of wear,
discoloration, deterioration or loose threads.
Clean sling as indicated on the tag.
When necessary
Inspect spreader bar for damage or cracks. Assure attachments are properly secured.
