Note
It is vitally important to ensure that the weather seal gasket is not damaged or
otherwise compromised. A faulty weather seal can lead to potential node problems in the
future.

Inspect the weather seal gasket and RF gasket before closing the lid (Figure 2.3 on page
2-3). If either gasket is damaged, repair or replace it before closing the lid.

Close the lid, being careful not to pinch any cables between the lid and the base. Using a
½-inch wrench, snug (but don’t tighten) the eight housing bolts in the order shown in
Figure 4.21. Using a torque wrench, tighten the bolts to 10 foot-pounds (13.5
newton-meters).
The sequence numbers are cast in the lid surface for your convenience. This tightening
sequence prevents warping the housing and ensures a good weather and RF seal.

Replace all test point access plugs and torque them to 3 foot-pounds (4 newton-meters) to
ensure an adequate weather and RFI seal.
