For optimal coverage, the motion sensor should be installed on the ceiling as close to the middle
of the room as possible. When ceiling mounting is not feasible, either due to the construction or
for the aesthetics of the room, the sensor may be placed on the wall. The location should be as
high as possible and give as much coverage to the room as possible. Figure E4 shows the range
of the motion sensor when placed on the ceiling. This range is somewhat reduced when installed
on the wall. The range shown is a general guideline, and the sensor is designed to cover an area
of about 8m (26 feet) in diameter. To check the location, it is advisable to activate the motion
LED using the service device and test the range of the motion sensor. This process will help to
determine the best location of the sensor. See section To test the in-room devices
for
instructions on this process.
