6.5 - Removing and installing centre vent temperature sensor -G191
- Removing dash panel centre section.
=> Inner Body Assembly; Repair group 68
- -> Detach connector.
- Rotate sender -A- 90° and remove from air duct -B-.
Notes:
◆ Sender -G191 is installed in the air duct for the centre dash panel vent -B- (on right-hand side as viewed in
direction of travel). Fitting location of air duct for centre dash panel vent=>Page 89 (Vents and air ductsfor
dash panel).
◆ The sender -G191 in vehicles with an operating and display unit -E87 with the type with two displays is only
installed into vehicles with map-controlled cooling.
◆ A refrigerant thermostat is installed in vehicles with map-controlled cooling; an additional electrical actuator
is integrated in this thermostat. This actuator (thermostat -F265 for map-controlled engine cooling) is actu‐
ated by the engine control unit according to the current engine load.

- Actuation of thermostat -F265 alters the refrigerant temperature (the refrigerant thermostat opens at a higher
temperature when the engine is running at part throttle in comparison to full engine throttle).
- Sender -G191 is installed to maintain the temperature of the air emitted from the vents as constant as
possible, even when the refrigerant temperature fluctuates.
6.6 - Removing and installing fresh air blower -V2
