Notes:
◆ If an invalid code is entered in operating and display unit -E87, it is suppressed and the code "04042" (Audi
A4 4 cyl. USA) is stored. It could happen that the fault "sender for venting temperature in centre -G191" is
stored although this component is not installed into the Audi A3 without map-controlled engine cooling.

Notes:
◆ The operating and display units with the part number 9L0 820 043 and the indices "H", "J", "K" and "L" and
as of "O" are equipped with one display.
◆ In vehicles with map-controlled cooling the coding of the operating and display unit -E87 is different than
vehicles without map-controlled cooling.
◆ The main differences between the codes for "Rest of world" and "USA" or "Japan" are as follows:
USA = Temperature display in °F has priority over °C.
Japan = The function "Manually actuated
air circulation" is not erased
when ignition is switched off.
- Connect fault reader V.A.G 1551,
Enter address word 08 "Electronic climate/heating control" and advance the program until "Select function
XX" appears on display => Page 4 onwards.
- Switch on printer by pressing PRINT key (lamp in key lights up).
