Classification: Avery Dennison Public Setting Ethernet Communications 4-3
Setting the Boot Method
The boot method sets the way the device receives its IP address.
Select To
Static
Use if your network uses fixed configuration. The IP address remains
the same every time the device connects to the network.
DHCP
The network automatically assigns an IP address within a specified
range to a device when it is first turned on. A device could have a
different IP address every time it connects to the network.
Note: The 169.x.x.x IP address is a default address. If this IP address
appears on your printer, it indicates the DHCP request failed.
Reset Default Password
Reset the password for Web browser and Telnet sessions to the default access (using
version 3.0 or greater firmware). The password is reset and the printer restarts. Make a
note of the password if you change it.
Default Network
The default network option allows you to reset the Ethernet/wireless module.
Select To
Default
Setting
Any defaults set using the SET DEFAULT Telnet console command are
restored.
Factory
Default
Reset the module to factory defaults.
See “Factory Defaults
for the list of default values.
When the module is reset to factory defaults, you must reconfigure all
your specific network settings, including IP address, SSID, etc.
Depending on your printer’s boot method, the IP address may be automatically assigned
when you turn on the printer. The new IP address may not be the same as the previous
one.
