Convergence Test pattern
For the m anual correction of the DMD convergence, a typical convergence test pattern is generated. For a 4K projector, use the 4K
test pattern.

Work Instructions:
• GREEN and RED D MD ’s are t o be adjusted with reference to the BLUE dmd.
• Each adjustment allows for appr oximately 10 pixels (for 2K p rojectors) or 20 pixels (for 4K projectors) maxim um displacement
to either side of the nominal BLUE pos ition
• Rotation is lim ited to approximately + /- 5pixels on the left sc reen flank and +/- 5 pixels on the right screen flank
• One turn of an adjustment screw r elates to an approx. 5-pixel displacement on the screen.
Take Care:
• In rare cases it can happen that the nominal dmd position falls within a dead zone, wh ere the m echanism changes from a
pushing to a pulling function. This dead z one is due to inherent tolerances within the mec hanism . A pproximately 2 turns a re
required to get out of the dead zone. If it so happens that the nominal position of an adjustment falls w ithin this dead zone,
it is preferable to continue screwing through the dead zone for an other 2 turns. Then return to the required nominal position.
The dead zone should now be displaced away from the required end pos ition. The DMD is now securely held in the nominal
position.
• Each adjustm ent is limited to approximately 10 pixels (for 2K projectors) or 20 pixels (for 4K projectors) displacement. DO NO T
try to force the adjus tment beyond this point. The system has an end of travel in b oth directions, but with excessive force one
could cause damage.
12.4 Red on blue convergence

Converging the RED pattern onto the BLUE pattern
Start with aligning the RE
D DMD in the vertical directions [1] an d [2] and then proceed with the horizontal direction [3]
1. To translate RED vertically in the Y + direction, turn both [1] and [2] c lockwise. Turn screws in equal increments.
2. To translate RED v ertically in the Y - direction, turn both [1] a nd [2] anti-clockwise. Turn screws in equal increments.
3. To translate RE D horizontally in the X + direction, turn [3 ] clockwise.
