• Before operating this equipm ent please read this manual thoroughly and retain it for future refe
rence.
• Installation and preliminary a djustments should b e performed by qualified Barco personnel or by authorized B arco service deal-
ers.
• All warnings on the pr ojector and in the documentation manuals s hould be adhered to.
• All instructions for operating and use of this equipment must be followed precisely.
• All local installation cod es should be adhered to.
Notice on safety
This equipment is built in accordance with the requirements of the international safety standards IEC60950-1, EN60950-1,
UL60950-1 and CA N/CSA C22.2 No.60950-1, which are the safety standards of information technology equipment including
electrical bus iness equipment. T hese safety standards impose important requirements on the use of safety critical components,
materials and insulation, in order to protect the user or operator against risk of electric s hock and energy hazard and having access
to live parts. Safety standards also impose limits to the internal and external tem perature rises, radiation levels, mechanical stability
and strength, enclosure construction and protection against the risk of fire. Simulated single fault condition testing ensures the
safety of the equipm ent to the user even whe n the e quipment’s norm al operation fails.
Users definition
Throughout this m anual, the term SERVICE P ERSO NNEL refers to persons having appropriate technical training and experience
necessary to be knowledgeable of potential hazards to which they are exposed (including, but not limited to HIGH VOLTAGE ELEC-
TRIC and ELECTRONIC CIRCUITRY and HIGH B RIGHTNESS PROJECTORS) in performing a task, and of m easures to minimize
the potential risk to themselves or other persons. The term USER and O P ERATOR refers to any perso n other than SE RVICE PER-
SONNEL, A UT HO RIZED to oper ate pro fessional projection systems located in RES TR ICTED ACCESS LO CATIONS.
The DLP C inema Systems are intended "F OR PROFES SIO N AL USE ON LY" by AUTHO RIZE D PE R S ON N EL familiar with poten-
tial hazar ds associated with high voltage, high intensity light beams, ultraviolet e xposure and high temperatures generated by the
lamp and associated circuits. Only qualified SERVICE PERSONNE L, knowledgeable of such ris ks, are allowed to perform service
functions inside the product enclosure.
Restricted access location
The B-series projector may only be installed in a restricted access location, due to the temper ature rise of par ts of the equipment
(air outlet). The definition of a “restricte
d access location" is a location for equipment where both of following paragraphs apply:
• Access can only be gained by SE RVICE PERS O NS or by USERS who have been instructed about the reasons for the restriction
applied to the location and about the precautions that shall be t aken.
• Access is through the use of the tool or lock and key, or other mea ns of security, and is controlled by the authority res ponsible
for the location.

The part n umber and serial number are printed on a label which is stuck on the respective part. Record these num bers in the spaces
provided below. R efer to them wh enever you call upon your Barco dealer regarding this product.
