Do
not
expose
control
surface
trim
tab
hinge
lines
and
their
pushrod
systems
to
the
direct
stream
or spray of
high-pressure,
soap-and-
water
washing
equipment.
Fluid
dispensed
at
high
pressure
could remove
the
protective
lubri-
cant,
allowing
moisture
from
heavy
or
pro-
longed
rain
to
collect
at
hinge
lines,
and
then
to
freeze
at
low
temperatures.
After
high-
pressure
or
hand
washing,
and at each
periodic
inspection,
lubricate
trim
tab
hinge
lines
and
trim
tab
pushrod
end
fittings
(Brayco
300
per
Federal
Specification
VV-L-800
preferred). See
Consumable
Materials.
CAUTION
When
cleaning
landing
gear
areas
with
solvent,
especially
if
high-pressure
equipment
is used,
exercise
care to avoid
washing
away
grease
from
landing
gear
components.
After
washing
the
landing
gear
areas
with
solvent,
lubricate
all
lubrication
points, or
premature
wear
may
result.
Do
not
apply
wax,
polish,
rubbing
compound,
or
abrasive
cleaner
to
any
uncured
painted
surface.
Use of
such
items
can
permanently
damage
the
surface
finish.
Also,
waxes
and
polishes
seal
the
paint
from
the
air
and
prevent
curing.
