Straight stitch No. 1
this technique reduces the size of the fabric (allow for enough fabric)
pintucks are narrow stitched folds which are normally sewn on the fabric
before cutting out the pieces for garments or other sewing projects
for embellishing or in combination with other heirloom embroidery
techniques
Corded pintucks
pintucks may be sewn with or without cord
cord pintucks for a raised effect and texture
chose a cord that fits well into the grooves of the selected pintuck foot
the cord must be colorfast and shrinkproof
Pintucks
Inserting the cord
remove the stitch plate of the sewing computer (see page 28)
open the bobbin door
pull the cord through the hook opening from the bottom and through the
opening of the stitch plate
replace the stitch plate
close the bobbin cover
make sure that the cord slides within the thread slot of the bobbin cover
place the cord spool on the arm of the Free Hand System
check that the cord runs smoothly
Sewing pintucks
sew first pintuck, marking the stitching line if necessary
the cord will automatically feed into the pintuck
The cord lies on the wrong side of the material and is hold/sewn over by the
lower thread.
turn work if necessary
place first pintuck in one of the side grooves in the presser foot (depending
on the desired distance)
sew second pintuck
sew additional pintucks parallel to these two
If the thread doesn't slide smoothly past the bobbin cover, open the
cover while sewing and turn off the lower thread indicator in the
Setup Program.
