PIT FORMING KIT
DOCK LEVELERS PIT KIT
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Includes:
Three piece all steel construction pit walls,
curb angles welded to steel panels, front
curb angle.
Provides:
All the construction advantages of a pour-
in dock leveler while eliminating the
problems of handling and positioning the
dock leveler months before it is needed.
Ensures accurate pit dimensions.
Procedures:
1. Site and pour (float finish) to height
below finish floor level (See Fig. 1).
Recommended 6" (150mm) concrete
(3000 P.S.I.) under entire unit. While
base slab is poured also locate and
pour in front angle (See Fig. 1 & 2). Be
sure front angle is square and level for
Pit Kit assembly.

Assemble Pit Kit panels by bolting rear
corners together (See Fig. 3). Attach
panels to front angle (See Fig. 4) and
ramset or otherwise secure bottom of
assembled Pit Kit panels to slab.
Important: Pit Kit must be kept
square
.
3.
Form front of dock face and cross
brace Pit Kit panels (See Fig. 5). This
is to prevent bowing of panels under
the weight of the poured concrete.
IMPORTANT
Pit Perimeter Curb Angles
Must be level side-to-side and front-to-
back.
Must be square and parallel to each
other.
Finished floor to be flush with upper
surface.
