LIP LOCK and SPRING ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENT – cont’d
10) Enter the apron area and lower the lip
by lifting approximately 2" to release
the lip lock and lowering to the
hanging position. See Figure 35
The lip is heavy, handle with care and
be alert to pinch points.
11) Adjust the length of the spring
assembly by adding or subtracting split
rings from the spring assembly as
required.

12) Walk the deck down to the stored position. Cycle the unit up and down several
times to assure correct overall operation. Pay particular attention to the effort
required to lower the deck from its fully raised position. The main spring tension
may have been wrongfully increased in an attempt to overcome the broken lip lock
spring problem. If the deck is too hard to walk down and the lip extends with
excessive force, reduce the main spring tension, equal counterclockwise turns on
each of the four adjusting nuts, until satisfactory operation is achieved.
13) If further adjustments are required, see the 'Trouble Shooting‘ section of this
manual, Group 04, Section 01, Pages 1 and 2.
