5.1.6 Center Panel ASSY and Color LCD (MFC820CW)
(1) Disconnect the center panel-main harness from the main PCB.
(2) Turn up the color LCD towards you to an angle of approx. 45°. Release the right and left
bosses provided on the cable protection plate (black plastic plate) from the center panel ASSY
by warping the plate.
(3) Remove the center panel ASSY using the following procedure.
Remove the two screws from the center panel ASSY.
Slightly lift up the right rear corner of the center panel ASSY and press it to the front, then pull
up the front edge of the right center panel to unlatch it from the upper cover.
In the same way, unlatch the front edge of the left center panel from the upper cover.
Remove the center panel ASSY.

(4) Remove the color LCD using the following procedure.
Disconnect the LCD flat cable from the main PCB.
Remove the screw from the plastic hinge that secures the color LCD. (See the next page.)
Press the latch on the plastic hinge to the rear and remove the hinge to the right.
The color LCD also comes off.
