 Reassembling Notes
• When replacing the scanner cover, remove the ferrite core from the CIS motor harness of the old
scanner unit and set it to that of the new one. Wind the CIS motor harness round the ferrite core
by one turn.

Route the center panel-main harness and panel-center panel harness as shown
below.

• Before connecting the panel-main harness (MFC640CW/DCP340CW) or center panel-main
harness (MFC820CW) to the main PCB, press section "X" on the left edge of the scanner cover
outwards to provide enough gap and route the panel-main harness through the cable guide on the
underside of the scanner cover as shown on page 5-10.
• After completion of reassembly, check the type of the CIS unit (see below) integrated in the new
scanner cover by traveling the CIS unit to the scanning end position and specify the CIS type
(CCI or ROHM), referring to Chapter 8, Section 8.4.12 (Function code 59).
