7) Log off and on again.
8) If a previous version of PULSE is installed on your computer, go to “Remove PULSE”
on page 12.
If PULSE has never been installed on your computer, go to “Install PULSE” on
page 12.
Remove PULSE
Note:
• Uninstalling PULSE will not remove specific transducers that have previously been
entered into the transducer database
Using Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel, uninstall PULSE, PULSE Databases,
PULSE Applications and Adobe
®
Reader
®
if below version 8.0. The US version of Adobe
Reader version 8.0 can be installed from the PULSE Installation DVD.
Alternatively, you can uninstall PULSE, PULSE Databases, and PULSE Applications by
running the installation (see below) and right-clicking to uninstall.
To upgrade your existing PULSE installation, follow the “Install PULSE” procedures de-
scribed below. The hardware and transducer databases will be updated during the installation
process and your existing projects, templates and samples will be left unchanged. In general,
the installation process cleans up stranded files, registry keys, shortcuts and delivers a clean
installation.
Install PULSE
Note:
• Installation will not include full PULSE functionality until a PULSE license with match-
ing major version number has been fulfilled. This applies to all PULSE applications within
your total system. See section 2.6.2 for instructions on how to upgrade your PULSE
license(s)
• You may be prompted to restart your computer after each installation. If so, return to the
installation program by running SETUP.EXE
• You can use the keyboard or mouse for installation. On the keyboard, use or press <1> –
<5>, <i>, <x> and left arrow
• If you have not already uninstalled earlier versions of PULSE, PULSE Databases and
PULSE Applications, you can right-click or press <Shift> and the corresponding number
key to uninstall them before re-installing
Procedure
1) Insert the installation DVD (Disk 1) into the drive. If the installation program does not
start automatically, then run SETUP.EXE from the root directory of the DVD.
2) Install Adobe Reader 8.0: needed to view parts of the PULSE documentation.
3) Select Install PULSE from the installation program’s main menu and follow the on-
screen instructions to execute the installation of PULSE applications.
