8.15 Breakdowns and recommissioning
In the case of foreseeable stagnation periods, the
following precautions should be taken:
BWT recommendation for restarting the unit after
the stagnation phases:
Less than 3 days
None
Start-up: Flushing of the water softener.
Then open all extraction points to ush the ins-
tallation.
3 to 30 days
Close the main service valve.
Disconnect the water softener from the network.
Open the main service valve.
Regenerate both exchanger resin columns.
Then open all extraction points to ush the ins-
tallation.
1 to 6 months
Close the main service valve.
Disconnect the water softener from the network and
decommission the unit.
Open the main service valve.
Instruct BWT customer services to regenerate
both exchanger resin columns while adding Dioxal
disinfectant.
Then open all extraction points to ush the ins-
tallation.
Longer than 6 months
Disconnect the domestic water installation from the
public drinking water network.
Disconnect the water softener from the network and
decommission the unit.
Reconnect to the public drinking water network.
Instruct BWT customer services to regenerate
both exchanger resin columns while adding Dioxal
disinfectant.
8.16 Shutting down the unit
● Close the Multiblock. The drinking water system
is supplied with untreated water through the by-
pass in the Multiblock.

● A ushing procedure is performed, which u-
shes out the water to relieve pressure.
● Wait approx. 5 minutes until the operating dis-
play appears.
● Remove the mains plug.
