Problem
Cause Remedy
Cannot adjust focus.
Subject is not suitable for autofocus.
Adjust focus in manual focus mode.
Viewfinder diopter is not properly
adjusted.
Turn diopter adjustment ring until
viewfinder display becomes clear (see
P- 23).
Lens is dirty. Clean the lens using a dry, soft cloth
with due care not to scratch it.
Finder is not pulled out. Pull finder out.
Wireless controller does not
operate.
SENSOR OFF mode is selected. Cancel SENSOR OFF mode.
Tally lamp does not light or flash.
TALLY OFF mode is selected. Cancel TALLY OFF mode.
Playback doesn’t start when Camera is in CAMERA mode. Press MODE SELECT button.
► (PLAY) button is pressed.
Camera is turned off. Turn camera on and press MODE
SELECT button.
Video cassette is not loaded. Load a video cassette.
Tape has ended (“T. END” appears in
viewfinder).
Rewind tape or use another video
cassette.
Tape is moving, but no picture
appears on TV monitor.
For TV without audio/video input
terminals: Video channel is not set
properly on both TV and RF unit.
Set TV and RF unit to appropriate
video channel.
For TV with audio/video input
terminals: TV/VIDEO selector on TV
is not set to VIDEO.
Set TV/VIDEO selector to VIDEO.
Video heads are dirty.
Clean video heads using optional
CK-E1 8mm Video Cleaning Kit.
Playback appears rough
Although the TV program has been cleanly copied, the video playback appears rough. This is due to dirty
video heads. Video heads should be cleaned using the optional CK-E1 8mm Video Cleaning Kit. For
further details, refer to the CK-E1 instruction manual.
