10” – 13” models
To connect to Carel controllers, use the special cable adapter, P/N PGTA00CNV0.
On 10” and 13” models, the RS485 port has a DB9 female connector with Slave
configuration. The cable adapter P/N PGDTA00CNV0 has a DB9 male connector,
meaning the port + connector has a Master configuration.
The typical application is a network made up of a touch terminal (10”-13”) and
pCO controllers: the terminal acts as Master and the pCO controllers are Slaves.
Note that there can be a maximum of two Master devices in the RS485
network.

Important: if terminal A is connected to a pCO network, then terminal A is
Master and the pCO controllers are Slaves. If terminal A is connected to terminal B
with the function of remote terminal, in this second network terminal A is the
Slave and terminal B is the Master. Therefore the second serial port must be
configured as a Slave (do not connect the PGTA* cable DB9 connector).
3.3.2 Ethernet network
On the 4.3” and 7” models, the two Ethernet ports are connected to an internal
hub-switch that manages the Ethernet traffic transiting over the network for the
terminal. Consequently, a network of several devices can be created without
requiring an external hub. The switch features Auto–MDIX (auto crossover),
meaning the network can be created using normal patch cables, without needing
crossover cables to connect two devices (NIC). It must be remembered that when
the terminal is not powered, traffic from port 1 to 2 and vice-versa is interrupted.
Note:
• for Ethernet connections use CAT-5 STP shielded cables;
• for network connections with BACnet IP protocol, the pCO controllers need
to be fitted with the pCOWeb card (P/N PCO1000WB0) and the network
communication speed will be the maximum allowed by each device. This
depends on the features and layout of the network and traffic on the network
at any given time.
