Keyboard
commands
such
as
LIST,
LOAD,
SAVE
and
RUN.
As
a
rule,
the
differ
ence
between
direct
mode
and
operation
within
a
program
is
that
direct
mode
commands
have
no
line
numbers.
Shown
below
is
the
keyboard
of
the
Commodore
128
Personal
Computer.
Using
BASIC
is
essentially
the
same
in
both
C64
and
C128
modes.
Most
of
the
keys,
and
many
of
the
commands
you
will
learn,
can
be
used
to
program
BASIC
in
either
mode.
The
keys
that
are
shaded
in
the
figure
above
can
be
used
in
C64
mode.
In
C128
mode
you
can
use
all
of
the
keys
on
the
keyboard.
