A.2.1.1 1:1 Redundancy System Setup (Using a Single Ethernet Interface)
• Chapter 5. SERIAL INTERFACE OPERATION
• Chapter 4. ETHERNET INTERFACE OPERATION
Do these steps to set up a 1:1 Redundancy System using a single Ethernet interface:
Step Description
Turn both units off, and then connect them to the 1:1 Redundancy System hardware using the proper cables.
2
Turn on Unit #2 and change its serial remote address from
(factory default) to a valid unique value (typically
2) so that it does not conflict with any other unit in the system.
Change Unit #2’s IP address from the factory default (
) to a valid unique value (typically
192.168.1.3/24) so that it does not conflict with any other unit in the system.
Enable redundancy mode by setting the
serial remote command (typically
or
). You
may hear the waveguide switch(es) throw once you enable redundancy mode. Unit #2 is now the online unit.
Turn on Unit #1.
6
Change Unit #1’s serial remote address / IP address if necessary (typically the factory default values are
correct).
Enable redundancy mode by setting the ESW serial remote command (typically ESW=1 or ESW=2). You
may hear the waveguide switch(es) throw once you enable redundancy mode. Unit #1 is now the online unit.
8 Set up all parameters for Unit #1 so that the configuration can be copied to Unit #2 (AMP, MUT, ATT, etc.).
