2.4 LPOD Standalone (Single-Thread) Installations
See Section 2.2 Water Tight Sealing in this chapter for important outdoor
installation considerations.
See Appendix A. 1:1 REDUNDANCY for the available assembly kit options for 1:1
LPOD redundancy configurations.
See Appendix B. CABLE DRAWINGS for information about the cables that are
available for use with the LPOD in Standalone or 1:1 Redundancy operation.
The terms “standalone” or “single-thread” refers to applications that use a single (1) LPOD unit,
whereas a 1:1 Redundancy System employs two (2) LPODs operating in redundancy.
Several kits are available from CEFD to mount and install standalone or 1:1 Redundancy LPODs,
depending on the LPOD unit ordered:
See Sect. 2.4.3 for standalone assembly and installation information for pole-mounted
LPOD configurations.
See Sect. 2.4.4 for standalone assembly and installation for spar-mounted LPOD
configurations.
See Sect. 2.4.5 for standalone assembly and installation for shelf-mounted LPOD
configurations.
2.4.1 Manpower Requirements
CEFD recommends that, at a minimum, two technicians are employed to install any LPOD
Standalone System.
2.4.2 Typical Required Installation Tools
CEFD recommends that, at a minimum, you use the following tools to install any LPOD
Standalone System:
Adjustable wrench;

Tin snips.
2.4.3 Pole-Mounted Installations
The Universal Pole Mount Kit PL/12319-1 is used in combination with pole-mounted standalone
and 1:1 Redundant LPOD installation kits. For the purpose of brevity, all further reference to this
kit’s usage for either standalone or 1:1 redundant applications directs you back to this chapter
section.
