WheelandTireInspection
Checkifthetireairpressureisatthespecifiedvalue(32psifrontandpsirear).Inspectthevalvestems
forlocknutinstallation,locknutsecurity,andvalvestemcondition.Donotoperatethemotorcycle
withoutthevalvestemcapinplace.Inspectthetirecondition.Warning!Replaceanytirewithtread
thatisworndowntothetreadwearindicator(orifthetreadremainingislessthan2mm),ifthetire
exhibitscupping,orifthetirehasanyotherdefe cts.
Inspectthe
spokesonboththefrontandtherearwheel.Ifanyspokesareloose,tightenthemand
checkforwheeltrueness.Ifanyspokesaremissing,replacethem.Theentirewheelshouldberelaced
atthenextavailableopportunity.
Checktherimsfordents.Iftherimisdented,itshould
bereplaced.
Whenthewheelsareremovedfromthemotorcycle,checkthegreaseseals,thewheelbearings,and
othercomponents.Ifthegreasesealsarecutortorn,theyshouldbereplaced.If thewheelbearing
innerracesareloose,grittywhenrotated,ornoisy,replacethebear ing.
Place
thewheelsonatruingstandandinspectthemforrunoutandovality.Ifeitherexceeds1.0mm,
truethewheelbyadjustingspoke tension.
Balancethewheelandtireonadynamicbalancer.

Priortoliftingthebiketogetthewheelwiththeflattireofftheground,loosentheaxle
bolts(just
loosenthem,donotremovethem).
RemovethewheelwiththeflattireinaccordancewiththeinstructionsfordoingsointhisOwner’sand
ServiceManual.Placethewheelonitsside,withthebrakediskfacingdown.Removethevalvecapand
