Loosenthethreadedadjustorenoughtoallowinsertionofa
0.07mmfeelergageintothevalvegap,asshownhere.
Handtightenthe
adjustorsothatitissnugagainstthe
feeler.Youdon’twanttoovertightentheadjustororyouwill
starttoopenthevalveandyouradjustmentwillbe
incorrect.Justmakeitsnugsothatifyoutrytopullthe
feelerout,youfeelslightresistance.
Tightenthe10mm
adjustorlocknut.
Repeattheaboveprocessfortheothervalve.Manuallyrotatetheenginetwocompleterevolutions,
aligntheTmarkandthescribelineagain,andchecktheclearanceagain.
Assemblyisthereverseofdisassembly.
CSCrecommendsinspectingthevalvegapat500miles,andadjusting
thevalvesevery5000miles.If
themotorcycleisriddenaggressivelyorathighrpmforextendedperiods,youmayneedtoincrease
thevalveadjustmentfrequency.
Carburetor

yourmotorcycleisrunningroughandtheproblem
isrelatedtothecarburetor,orifyourmotorcycle
hasnotbeenoperatedforalongtimeandyoudidnottreatthefuelpriortostorage,thefuelwill
creategumsthatcanclogthecarburetorjetsandaffectengineperformance.Thissectionwillshow
youhowtoremove,
disassemble,clean,reassemble,andreinstallyourcarburetor.
