Problem Observed Possible Cause Test Procedure or Solution
The VFC-3000 controller is
dead. The LCD is not lit and no
LEDs are ashing.
Power is not being supplied to
the VFC-3000 controller.
Check that 120 VAC power
is supplied to the VFC-3000
controller. Check the circuit
breaker for the AC power
outlet, the power at the AC
outlet, the VFC-3000 power
cord, and make sure the VFC-
3000 power switch is on.
The VFC-3000 controller power
supply fuse is blown.
Replace the fuse.
The internal power supply
failed or other internal
hardware malfunctioned.
Replace the VFC-3000
controller.
The display will not display test
patterns or messages.
The display data (J11, J12)
or ber display data (J3, J4)
cables are not plugged in or
they are damaged.
Check that the display data
cables are connected and
show no signs of damage. If
using ber-optic option, verify
that the transmit (TX) and
receive (RX) bers are not
swapped.
The distribution board within
the display lost power,
became disconnected, or
malfunctioned.
Check that the display data
cables are properly connected
within the display. If using ber-
optic option, verify that the
transmit (TX) and receive (RX)
bers are not swapped.
The VFC-3000 controller is
improperly congured.
Verify the VFC-3000 controller
conguration matches the
display.
Internal hardware
malfunctioned.
Replace the VFC-3000
controller.
A problem exists within the
display.
