6.2.5.6 The R Instruction
The R Instruction combines features of the C Instruction (remote control) and the E Instruction
(data entry). The user interface for the R Instruction is the same as that for the E Instruction. The R
Instruction can be useful with patient simulators (e.g. ECG, SpO2, or NIBP) which do not, by
themselves, generate measurement data.
When ES601Plus executes the R Instruction, it will transmit the command portion of the
Instruction via the Tester Port specified in the AutoSequence. The prompt portion of the
Instruction will be displayed on the LCD as the "TASK". The ENTER TEST DATA button on the
LCD allows the user to record measurement data or observations via the QWERTY touch keypad,
or by means of a PS/2 keyboard connected to ES601Plus.
