ES601Plus OPERATING MANUAL
Fig u re 77 - Test Procedure in progress, M instruction.
6.2.5.7 The M Instruction
The M Instruction can retrieve test result data from an external medical device analyzer or "tester",
after the tester has been set up and used to perform a test. Typically, an M Instruction might follow
one or more C Instructions in an AutoSequence or Test Procedure.
In executing a M Instruction, ES601Plus will transmit the command of the Instruction via the
RS232 Tester Port specified in the AutoSequence. The prompt portion of the Instruction will then
be displayed on the LCD as the "TASK". However, if the first character of the Instruction
command is a whitespace or a <TAB> character, ES601Plus does not transmit anything and will
immediately display the user interface of Fig u re 77.
In the event that data is not immediately received from the tester, a count-up timer is displayed on
the "TEST DATA" line, as shown above. Once test data is received, the timer is removed from the
LCD, replaced by the received data. While waiting for data, or after data is received, PASS, FAIL,
BACK and SKIP buttons are active and take their usual functions (see P Instruction).
